Anonymous comments given by a recent Internet Retailer survey respondents reveal their worries about the replatforming process: that they lack enough time to choose an e-commerce platform wisely; that they will end up with fewer features and functions than they need; the complexity, time and cost involved in changing platforms; and the challenge of importing data correctly into the new platform. In this report, we will look at each of the four questions e-retailers raised in their comments and follow-up interviews, and provide their views and those of other experts on the factors each web merchant should consider when making these important decisions.
